Natural hair care and skin remedies that improve the quality of health of your hair and skin?
Posted by admin on Jan 4, 2009
Your answers are greatly appreciated. God Bless!
Your question seems to be asking for remedies for healthy skin and hair in general, and not for a specific problem (like acne, dry skin, dull hair, etc..?)
And, I'm assuming you are referring to topical remedies? Which there are many. Although it varies, with the individuals needs.
I'm going to go a different route with my answer though. As well as topical treatments, what you put in your body has a great effect on hair, skin, nails too…
A healthy diet will help make your hair and skin (as well as nails) look their best. This includes — (lots of!) water, fresh fruits and veggies, high quality protein.
Sometimes it's hard to get the recommended nutrients from food alone, even with a good diet, so I would suggest (in addition to eating right) taking a multivitamin and possibly also Biotin and Silicon supplements.
–Silicon is a trace mineral required for the formation of healthy connective tissue, bone, skin, hair and nails.
–Biotin is a water-soluble B vitamin typically found in liver, egg yolk, cereals, legumes and nuts. Biotin is essential for normal skin and hair growth, lipid metabolism and energy production
May not have been what you were looking for, but hope it helps somewhat anyway!

Sarting a baby skin care line. What legal actions do I need to take?
Posted by admin on Jan 3, 2009
What kind of legal steps and licensing do I need To Make and Sell Home Made Soaps?I am starting my own natural baby skin care line and am wondering if someone can help me out with what I need to do as far as licenses, Patents, Trademark?, etc to make sure I am doing everything legal and no one copies my brand. I will be making them at home myself. Does the FDA have any thing to do with this or the health department?
You probably need $1,000,000 or more of product liability insurance — esp to sell to any chain stores. I'm guessing this could cost you $1500 a year — but that is a real guess. And you need to be a business — a sole prop or a subchapter S corp are your most likely choices — depends on your finances.
Things like soap are really hard to copyright or trademark unless you have something really revolutionary. And you must be ready to spend a LOT to defend these protections — otherwise you are probably best not bothering. Good luck.

What are some good brands of all or mostly natural make-up, skin care stuff, etc.???

I'm wondering if there is anything else besides Burt's Bees…
Aveda. They are also a very socially and environmentally responsible company. Origins too, but not to the same extent as Aveda or Burts Bees. Also, if you go to a natural grocer like Whole Foods (or whatever is in your area), their make up products are usually natural/organic and come from great companies as well. None I mentioned test on animals either. Another one I use frequently for skin/hair/body care: Lush. Go to www.lush.com and have fun searching for their awesome products.

Natural homemade skin care?
Posted by admin on Dec 31, 2008
I've been very interested in changing my diet and lifestyle (and TRYING to get hubby to feel the same!) We've cut out processed foods and sugars, as well as red meat, drinking TONS and tons of water,… Its been about a month, and we both feel better than I can remember feeling in years!
We're 24/25 btw.. so i'm hoping to break bad habits, and start living healthier now… instead of 10 or 20 years form now..
Now I'm starting to obsess a little, lol… I read that using natural things, instead of store bought soaps and moisterizers, are better for you also…
Can anyone give me some ideas or recipes for homemade skin care? I've been using apple cider vinegar as a tonic, and honey masks…
Thanks!! Any personal stories welcome also!! Like i said, I'm getting a little obsessed because my results, so far, have been so great.

Home-made & natural skin care recipes?

I love trying new recipes! A lot of people recommend oatmeal & honey scrub — question: Is this with raw oats or cooked?
I like salt & honey scrub for the body.
Raw oats, not cooked. Cooked ones won't help exfoliate at all.
Also a tincture of Vodka, Cucumber and Celery is AMAZING for reducing pores. If you want that recipe ask…and NO there's no alcohol left in the Vodka when you're done making it.

how is the market for herbal, natural skin care products in switzerland.?
Posted by admin on Dec 28, 2008
business in formation
Well Switzerland is the best for natural skin care products right now the idea to provide skin care products unparalleled in quality and effectiveness developed in Switzerland in 1975, when one man, Petter Mørck, together with a group of leading bio-chemists, biologists and herbalists, fulfilled his vision and founded Arbonne.
Arbonne's skin care products, based on botanical principles, became a reality in the United States in 1980 and are now shared throughout the world through Arbonne's network of Independent Consultants. Building on these same founding principles, Arbonne's product line has since grown to include both inner and outer health and beauty products that are unparalleled in quality, safety, value, benefits and results!
The Arbonne Institute of Research and Development, or AIRD, is a research and development facility located in Switzerland. The purpose of this institution is to coordinate the efforts of master formulators as they research, develop and finalize Arbonne’s exclusive skin care products. These proprietary formulas are owned by Arbonne and represent botanically-based products based on cutting-edge technologies and the latest advances in skin care science.
Pierrre Bottiglieri coordinates the development of Arbonne’s proprietary skin care formulas at AIRD in Switzerland. In this capacity Pierre brings his own expertise and the best minds in the business to the development of new formulas. The blending of Pierre’s extensive experience, global technologies, plus Arbonne’s commitment to rigorous research and development, creates a winning formula of pure, safe, beneficial products.
Pierre Bottiglieri is a renowned scientist and has 35 years of experience formulating products for several Swiss-international companies. Pierre has been a member of the Swiss Society of Cosmetic Chemists (Swiss Society Cosmetic Chemists) since 1972 and has played key roles in the IFSCC (International Federation Society Cosmetic Chemists) since that time.
The wonderful thing about Arbonne is that it's not just about great products, it's also about great people. The Arbonne family is made up of thousands of individuals working to make their dreams come true. Through sales incentives and rewards, travel opportunities, a generous SuccessPlan and great products, Arbonne offers a unique opportunity that can help make anyone's vision for the future a reality. I buy arbonne online and their products are just great and they are so convinced you will love their products that they have a money back guarantee, even if you already used the products ….. https://secure.myarbonne.com/arbonne/arbonnepuertorico.nsf/p1/1?OpenDocument&shoppingcart=1
