If you ignore the environment will it really just go away?
Posted by admin on Jan 5, 2009
Sort of an open topic for debate. I thought about because of the recent political tantrums over drilling for oil in Alaska and the constant mail outs I get from the Sierra Club over logging in the Sequoia National Forest. Why do we care? Oh yeah because one day my kids and my grandkids will be on this planet and I don't want them to just see natural beauty preserved in museums and old pictures.
Yup… Just like your teeth…

Women and beauty– For the women here?
Posted by admin on Jan 4, 2009
Why do we suject ourselves to such torcher to be "beautiful" when will we realize that our natural beauty is what guys crave.. I could go pluck and tan and my husband wouldn't care less. Oh, and size 3 is so not in anymore!! Only models and anororexic women are this size anymore so what makes you women think that an average guy is going to be intrested in something he can't get? I think it is well past time that we say forget trends and just try being ourselves
Because we still crave the attention. I have been both very heavy and very thin and know both worlds. Truth be told…we women want to feel "wanted"….even if we're married or generally disinterested. It hurts us to see our friends get hit on and get passed by time and time again at the club or bar or just with our friends.
My mother used to say that how people look doesn't matter…that it's what's on the inside that counts. My standard reply to that has always been…that no man can see your personality from the other side of a room….so it doesn't matter how pretty your insides are until they've fallen in love with the outside. Without physical chemistry there is rarely a relationship.
I wish this were NOT the case…but I personally have found this to be true.

Where do people buy skin care products?
Posted by admin on Jan 3, 2009
I’m starting a line of natural skin care products and am wondering if it’s a waste trying to sell online. Seems like people are more interested in researching or finding known brands at a bargain. Should I sell to local spas/beauty salons? Also having trouble getting wholesalers to buy them. my site: www.useevolve.com
You should try selling them in Beauty parlors and whats not because wholesalers will only buy them willingly if it has proven to work well…over wise you will have to resort to going through the towns and selling them..Good luck! =)

beauty tips for you!!?

here are some helpful beauty tips. =D
tips for oily skin-Oily Skin and Acne Breakouts
Oily skin doesn't necessarily cause acne, but it can be a contributor to breakouts if the skin isn't kept clean enough. Acne occurs when pores are invaded by dirt and oil, get clogged and breed bacteria. The bacteria in the pore causes swelling and the typical pimple is filled with pus, which is the body's attempt to fight infection using white blood cells. Keeping your skin clean and pores unclogged is one important way to prevent acne breakouts. And it all starts with the way you wash your face.
Skin Care and Makeup for Oily Complexions
Some people think that removing oil from the face is like washing it from dishes: they use the harshest soap and the hottest water to get their skin "squeaky clean". They never moisturize, and may even wipe their skin with alcohol to dry it out. The bad news is that if you treat your oily skin with harshness, it will redouble its efforts to protect itself—it will actually start to produce more oil to cope with what it feels are harsh environmental conditions! Wash your face, but use a gentle soap and lukewarm water, and don't rub or scrub. Treat your skin with love and compassion, and it will respond positively. Use an oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin protected, and protect it further by using a moisturizer that contains sunscreen. Keep the shine blotted down by using powdered mineral makeup, which is guaranteed to give you a matte finish without clogging pores. At the end of the day, remove your makeup with a gentle, alcohol-free toner, wash your face gently, and reapply moisturizer before bed.
Natural Beauty Product Suggestions for Oilier Skin
Oil free moisturizers usually contain glycerin and water, and some of the best products also contain tea extracts and oatmeal. Oatmeal has long been recognized as a soothing skin care product, and when used as a mask can brighten your skin without drying it out too much. Companies like Aveeno are making oatmeal based moisturizers and makeup that work wonderfully to care for the skin. Beauty tips columns always contain the oatmeal facial mask as a remedy for oily skin. Just puree oatmeal with a little water, wipe on the skin, allow to dry most but not all they way, and rinse off.
Luckily, caring for your oily skin has never been easier, since a tremendous range of products ensures that there's something for everyone. Treating oily skin is done at two levels; prevention and blemish control. Gentle treatment, the right oil-control makeup and proper nutrition can help prevent oily skin. Blemishes can be treated with tea tree oil or one of the natural remedies including green or white tea extract (powerful antioxidants) and skin calming oils such as lavender or chamomile.
Does diet and nutrition contribute to skin oils?
Some people think that chocolate or fatty foods can cause oily skin, and if you are allergic to a particular food, it may show up in the way your skin behaves. Chocolate has not been shown to increase skin oil or breakouts; in fact, dark chocolate contains antioxidants that are good for your brain and your body. But junk food like chips, high fat, high salt burgers and other fried foods may impact your skin as they do your entire body. If you're a junk food junkie and have oily skin or breakouts, take a month off from your favorite foods to see if your skin condition improves.
Antiaging therapy in the form of creams or lotions containing plant or milk acids often dry users' skins as the acids remove the top layer of skin cells from the complexion. Check out moisturizers containing alpha lipoic acid, which may decrease the oil in your skin after a short time of use.
You do have some pretty good tips, so why not use your knowledge to help others and answer questions! It's really fun and you can earn points, instead of losing them. Try it out!

Natural looking make up vs. trendy makeup?
Posted by admin on Dec 31, 2008
I'm a low maintenence girl who really values natural beauty. What do you think looks better- using just a basic powder, bronzer and lipgloss OR the full make up routine including eye shadow, liner and mascara for every day wear?
People tell me that I look good when I put on all that eye makeup and lip stick but I just feel gross having all that make up on my face- even if I just use a neutral shadow and brown liner/mascara. I want to look like I care about my appearance without applying all that stuff.
I like to do the natural for everyday. warm, light shades, a spray foundation that is soooooo light, and a light lip gloss. but when i go out i do the trendy thing. I don't think that you should care much about what other people think, as long as you feel good.
One thing that shows you care about your appearance is well groomed eyebrows (they make all the difference) and another is taking care of your hair.
Have a good day!!!

Natural African-American Beauty?
Posted by admin on Dec 30, 2008
So I love the way my hair's natural, curly texture is. I was having a conversation with my friend the other day about how I wouldn't change myself, alter my look, in any way that is permanent and that i didn't care for false addtions (hair, lashes, etc.).
So how do you feel about false additions? I would like to know how both men and feminists feel, because I feel that change is wonderful, but that people should be happy with themselves.
I am natural.
The most I do is blowdry my hair and pop in some hair rollers from time to time. I don't wear weaves because they just don't fit me. And I think perming is a sin (in MY book). I just like being me too much. I am not trying to fit into any group.

Natural Food Stores or Beauty Aid Stores in Your Area?
Posted by admin on Dec 29, 2008
I am a sales rep for an organic body and skin care line looking to expand our footprint. What are some prospective retailers in your local area? Mom and pop, corp. Large or small. Doesnt matter.
The city and state listed with your recommendation would be very helpful. FYI, we are already in Whole Foods, Trade Joe’s and so forth.
Thanks so much for your assistance.
Are you looking for stores abroad???

Do white people care about whether black people wear their hair natural or not?
Posted by admin on Dec 27, 2008
For whatever reason, black women in America tend to wear their hair straight. Some attribute this to racist beauty standards. I am wondering, do the vast majority of whites care whether blacks wear natural hair or not? I am guessing this is something that is primarily a black thing, based on how American blacks view each other.
I just want to verify this. I am white, and I was reading Obama's "Dreams From My Father" where he mentioned how in Kenya, blacks could feel that there is nothing wrong with their hair and such things. I know that I personally couldn't care less but I was wondering about others.
on edit: if black natural hair is considered "extreme" in corporate culture, I think that discrimination should be outlawed and enforced. That really doesnt seem fair at all. I'm not black, but I can easily see how the concept is unfair. I think most whites who are not corporate executives are not against blacks keeping their hair intact like white people do for gods sake.
I personally don't give a schit how black women wear their hair, but I'm just curious as to why if a BLACK woman styles her hair it's because "she hates her race" but any other woman styles her hair and nobody says anything
I dig black women and I personally think black women look better with some kinda style to their hair (not just straight, but whatever)…..but I have seen some of them rock a 'fro and look uber sexi - like that one chick on MOBY's new video

because I'm such a nice guy I even will provide a link to the Moby video I referred to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwyPI-zKqRs
